Introduction of the Children’s Museum

Theme
  • A Journey with the Great Gilt-bronze Incense Burner of Baekje
Content

The Children’s Museum at the Buyeo National Museum offers children an experience program that is designed to arouse and broaden their curiosity and to sharpen their critical thinking skills, under the theme of the Great Gilt-bronze Incense Burner, a central symbol of the Baekje Kingdom

Children are invited to discover and enjoy the wondrous world of the incense burner in an exhibition space that combines analog hands-on experiences, including structures that children can hang from, climb, or spin around on, with advanced digital technology such as media art installations featuring displays of lighting and colors coupled with 360-degree three-dimensional imaging projections. Children can imagine themselves as experts on Baekje as they explore the sciences, architecture, and arts of this ancient kingdom and immerse themselves in a time of healing within the world of the Daoist immortals that unfolds inside the incense burner, as well as enjoying the small pleasures hidden in the Bongnaesan Mountain playground. The Children’s Museum is dedicated to fostering children’s understanding of the value and excellence of the Great Gilt-bronze Incense Burner of Baekje through diverse activities. It also aims to present them with opportunities to develop an interest in the cultures of Korea and the wider world. All our facilities have been built with eco-friendly materials and therefore can be enjoyed in perfect safety by children and families.
